MACE MAIN CAP GIRDLE WITH ARP MAIN STUD KIT FORD FALCON XR6 BA BF FG 6 CYL TURBO

  • XR6 main cap girdles are compatible with the OEM windage tray, main caps and sump.
  • Manufactured from 10mm steel. These girdles when combined with ARP main studs increase the torsional rigidity of the cylinder block.
  • ARP – The world leader in fastener technology has just released a new pro series main stud kit for Australian manufactured ford 4.0L (XR6) inline 6 cylinder applications.
  • This product includes a set of fourteen 8740 main studs that are nominally rated at 200,000 psi, fourteen 8740 chrome molly steel 12 point nuts, a serrated flange nut to secure the oil pick up tube to the main cap and a ½ Oz pack of ARP ultra- torque fastener assembly lubricant.
  • All pro series 8740 studs are centerless ground, heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining, and designed to exceed the OEM fasteners in strength and durability. Optimum design, enhanced reliability and increased strength are the main attributes of the ARP’s pro series main stud kit.

BMW 640d xDrive announced

Fri, 24 Feb 2012

On Thursday, Greg Kable waxed effusively about the new BMW M550d xDrive coupe, suggesting that it was the ultimate 5-series for everyday use. On Friday, Munich announced that the 5's two-door sibling will receive an AWD diesel variant: the 640d xDrive. While not quite as high-zoot as the 5-series' top oil burner, the 640d's 3.0-liter, twin-turbo straight-six cranks out a respectable 465 lb-ft of almighty torque between 1,500 rpm and 2,500 rpm, plus 313 hp at 4,400 rpm—numbers that, according to BMW, will carry the 6-series to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds.

Le Mans regulations for 2014 announced

Thu, 14 Jun 2012

The organisers of the Le Mans 24-hour have announced a raft of radical new rules on the eve of the 2012 race - including the less restricted use of hybrid power for the top-flight LMP1 racers from 2014. The governing ACO (Automobile Club de l'Ouest) unveiled the major changes due in two years' time as the teams start the 80th 24 Heures du Mans event which runs from Saturday 16 - Sunday 17 June 2012. In order to stay in tune with our environmentally-conscious, economically-chastened times, the focus of the alterations is to improve the efficiency of the elite LMP1 cars' technology and cement a link with roadgoing hybrids, as well as making the race cars safer.
